A moderate magnitude 4.2 earthquake occurred in the Indian Ocean 90 km (56 mi) from  Indonesia around noon of Sunday, Sep 7, 2025 at 1.44 pm local time (GMT +8). The quake had a shallow depth of 38 km (24 mi) and was reported felt by some people near the epicenter.
